Have you ever seen a stranger reading a book in public and used the book to start a conversation? What happened? Were you the reader? How did you feel about being chatted-up this way? When in a library or bookshop do you have one eye on the books and one eye on potential dates?

Either too shy or too involved in the book to notice what's going on.

After I read this I went to my local Barnes. I happened to notice several attractive women there. Each was pretty engrossed in browsing. It was during the lunch hour and people at that time are usually purposeful.

Ah the perils of an ereader. No longer will I be the object of attention from those fellow readers interested in what's between my covers.

ALthough given how rare they are in the wild, one excites attentions simply by displaying such a thing.

Indeed, fox, the eReader is a useful device to start conversations, both chaste and not so chaste ...

I suppose if she was reading How to Seduce a Geek I might manage to say something.

Well, I purchased a Nook back in January. So far, owning an E-Reader has not helped. :(
