About My Library
If I were to land on a deserted island and looters decided to rifle through my belongings upon my disappearance, they would find that the majority of my belongings exist in paper. They would find my sense of humor in David and Amy Sedaris books, my domestic skills in Williams-Sonoma cookbooks, my sense of adventure in Dave Eggers and Junot Diaz, my fascination with human nature in David Foster Wallace, Dalton Conley, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, and Max Frisch, my love for pop culture in Chuck Klosterman, my spiritual side in Anne Lammott, and my desire to live more responsibly with Dorian Yates and Michael Pollan. None of it would probably be worth much to a bunch of looters, but fellow readers would understand what my books mean to me.
About Me
Full disclosure: I work for North Atlantic Books as a Publicist. That said, I never review a book my company has published if I didn't really love it. What you're getting from me are real, honest reviews of the books I've read, and if it's a book that my company has published, it's merely coincidental that I get the luxury of working with great titles.

Whew! Now that we got that out of the way... I am both a reader and writer, with an interest ranging from health & beauty publications to modern fiction, from cookbooks to adventure stories. I love get messy in the kitchen or craft up a storm with a needle and thread, go dancing or stay in and play Wii (I'm big on Boom Blox right now), watch trashy reality TV or catch an indie flick at the old theater near my home in Oakland.
