My research skirts around the edges of:
a) the anthropology of religion (and monasticism in particular)
b) the anthropology of landscape and the environment (and the landscapes of East Anglia and Orkney in particular)
c) Mongolian studies

I am also passionate about football, architecture, and the work of Graham Greene and Hermann Hesse. That just about covers the main blocks of books on my shelves.
