Om migI'm a 67 year old Naval Engineer with background in the nuclear industry working all my live in the technology area but that loves ancient history. I also like science but if I could go back to the past I would rather choose to be a historian.

Certainly because the human aspects of the discipline I got involved professionally with negotiation for the past 7 to 8 years. Besides negotiation consultant, I work as tutor-professor in distance learning courses on Negotiation in one of the most proficient University in Brazil, The Getulio Vargas Foundation. I also had spent some time in the Program On Negotiation at the Harvard Law School.

I'm always looking for answers concerning our purpose in this life and in the Universe.

I confess that I don't read much of fiction, concentrating my readings in essays of history, and science related to what I call the Intelligent Universe.

There is an exception in relation to literature, because being a fan of William Somerset Maugham I try to read all of his works. I read and have editions of many of his short histories and novels. On stage I have not read yet although I'm preparing myself for it. I'm far from being considered a Maugham's scholar which I think nobody can really say to be one. Maugham is a very complex person to be known entirely.

English is not my native language, so I'm sorry for any grammatical mistakes on my writing. On reading really I don't have any difficult at all.

I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Om mit bibliotekAs mentioned above most of my library is related with History, Cosmogony and Negotiation. Philosophy is also a matter of my interest and I have the Britannica Great Books (54) collection on philosophy.

Specific about history I have quite a big amount of books on Christianity, not meaning that I am a religious man which surely I am not. Those books are mainly about the Quest for The Historical Jesus, which was during some years of my live, a subject of my major concern.

The other historical personage which I collect many books is Alexander, The Great.

The exception to those essays in History, Science and Negotiation are the novels of Somerset Maugham which I have a great part of his work.

Scarcely I have also other fiction books of authors like Umberto Eco, Guy de Maupassant and some other less recognized, and many romances of Brazilian Literature.

I'm working to add all my books and although I did a lot in the first 2 days, still there is much work to do.
