My library is comprise of five main categories: kids books, literature, science, philosophy and travel. I have an entire room dedicated to reading and an entire room dedicated to books, which I call the library. My reading obsession and collection is matched only my adoration of music and CD collection.

It started when I was very young - my love affair with books, that is. I grew up in a family of 5 kids and was one, if not the only one, who could occupy my time by myself. Give me a bike, a book or a basketball and I'd be out of your hair for hours. Then one summer, my mom refused to take me to the library - we had been twice already in three days. She told me to read the encyclopedia. So I did. I didn't know how much information was out there! And my love affair became an obsession to learn. I equate reading to one of those science experiments you see at museums where a crank is connected to a lightbulb, the faster you turn the crank, the brighter the light is.

While all my brothers and sisters ended up working at local libraries during high school and college, I became a writer and now make a living sharing and explaining information that I read - primarily as it relates to science and health.
