Maria has read more than 1,000 books and will probably take several years to upload them all on this site. Being bilingual, she reads German and English language books, from children's fiction such as Michael Morpurgo and Astrid Lindgren, Erich Kaestner and Michael Ende, Ottfried Preussler and Eoin Colfer, JK Rowling and Jaqueline Wilson to grown-up writers like Thomas and Heinrich Mann, Heinrich Boell, Jules Verne and H G Wells, Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, Bram Stoker, Wilkie Collins, Conan Doyle, E F Benson, Frances Brody and Steinbeck and many, many, many more. About Me

Maria Thermann is a full-time writer and blogger. She writes children and YA fiction. She is originally from Germany but has lived in the UK for more than 30 years. Based in Wales, she enjoys long walks, cooking for friends, going to the cinema and reading books, naturally! She is an avid murder mystery fan and loves writers like Reginald Hill, Catriona McPherson, Carola Dunn and James Anderson. Her favourite English language book is Wind in the Willows. She studied English and German Literature and Linguistics and has a professional background in magazine publishing.
