About My Library

Like most significant book collections, mine started very humbly with a few favorite fiction books and some college textbooks. My husband and I shared a love of reading and traveling, so from the very start that became our focus and it was so much fun. Over the years, we steadily increased our collection until it became obvious that our shared passion had transformed into what we realized was an impressive intellectual and recreational library. My husband has passed, but my joy in reading and traveling continues. I'm guessing my library may be approaching 9,000. I'll know for sure once they've all been catalogued. As for the composition, our favorite subjects naturally dominate - philosophy, history and literature. but also well-represented are economics, law, science, psychology, education, political philosophy, military history, foreign policy, fiction, religion and a few odds & ends.
