- About My Library
I started reading fantasy novels as a teen (Anne McCaffrey and David Eddings). During my first years of marriage my husband and I purchased many books to start our home library (Tamara Pierce, Mercedes Lackey, Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind). We purchased mostly fantasy series that we both enjoyed reading. As children came we acquired many children's books and slowed down purchases for ourselves when money was tight. I switched to library use for many, many years. As our children became teens I purchased several series for them, and us, to read (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Fablehaven, Ranger's Apprentice, etc...). Recently I started purchasing the rest of the series from our earlier purchases, and adding others I never heard of previously (thanks to thrift store finds). Beyond fantasy I enjoy clean historical romance fiction (Sarah M. Eden, Lori Benton, Julie Klassen, Sian Ann Bessey, Mimi Matthews, Josi S. Kilpack, Laura Frantz, and others), as well as older "classic" novels (Jane Austen's works, Jane Eyre, and Georgette Heyer). I have both physical books and ebooks of some of the authors I follow. I still use the library, a lot. Our space for books purchased is limited. I have been creative in installing wall shelves in several rooms, but we're about to hit our limit.
