- About My Library
- I've read less than half of these books, though I've skimmed most of them. I'm really just here to catalog them, not to engage in discussions or recommendations, at least for now, though I'll be happy to talk about anything book-related. Most of my time goes to music and art, but I'm trying to become a book snob. I've just sort of acquired a lot of books through osmosis over the years, partly due to living in a city like New Orleans, with its untold amount of thrift stores, book stores, yard sales, etc. I like books that have an element of surrealism injected into a plot that is plausible, or vice versa. It's hard to explain what I'm talking about, so I'll do that later.
¬"A man's work is nothing but this slow trek to discover through the detours of art those two or three great and simple images in whose presence his heart first opened." - Albert Camus
¬"A book must be the ax for the frozen sea within us." - Franz Kafka
¬"People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it." - George Bernard Shaw
¬"Words suck." - Beavis
¬"The acts of life have no beginning and no end. Any attempt to conciliate an inexplicable momentary state with logic strikes me as a boring kind of game." - Tristan Tzara
¬"Believe those who seek the truth. Doubt those who find it." - André Gide
¬"The exquisite corpse shall drink the new wine." - The first sentence created using what was later dubbed the "exquisite corpse" method
¬"I always go on until I am stopped. And I am never stopped." - Percy Bysshe Shelley - About Me
- Please click "TAG CLOUD" right above this to get an overview of my reasons for living. My main interest are music, art (collage/painting/photography), horticulture (mainly palms), basketball, nutrition, existentialism, sociology, etc. My username is a Miles Davis track from 1970; I decided to capitalize the "Yes" and "No" in it.
