"You can't swing a stick in any bookstore today without knocking over at least a dozen books about wizards or vampires. Sometimes, you hit people with that stick, which is unfortunate and regrettable. To mitigate the inevitable negative outcome should this occur, make sure not to sharpen any stick you may in the future be inclined to start swinging around in bookstores. Also, every day there are fewer bookstores around in which to swing sticks, thanks to the internet.

Back on topic, I can guarantee that there are no wizards or vampires in my writing. Just action, violence, dark humor, and some rocking good times."

Mr. Haustrumerda is a former U.S. Navy submariner and current author, brewer, submarine pirate, and derelict. His debut novella, "Tall Tales of Felony and Failure", has recently been published by Wild Child Publishing.
