About My Library
A ragbag collection of the second-hand, the remaindered, and of scrapped and sold-off library books. Some more expensive items, gifts from family members and friends.
As I add books to the list I become aware that a fair proportion have been acquired only in order to look up a quotation or two.
About Me
"J'adore le passé. Il est plus reposant que le présent, et tellement plus sûr que l'avenir."

"Da oleag Séamus is meatha bheith 'na éagmais"
(Bad as James is it would be worse without him.)
Irish saying

"Poverty hath one name with Pride in my land."
Rachel Annand Taylor, "The Princess of Scotland"

"Dulce bellum inexpertis."
Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus, "De Re Militari"

"'S e s'docha lein am brandaidh."
Duncan Bán Macintyre

"books, books, my joy and woe"
Douglas Young

"Let us haif bukis necessare to common weill."
Sir David Lindsay of the Mount (1490-1555)
