About My Library
I simply love books and libraries! I have been collecting books on western Americana, the US Navy in WWII, the British Army, the fur trade, Russian America, American military history, Lewis and Clark, Thomas Jefferson, and general history, science, and philosophy for about 35 years. I don't know exactly how many books I have, but roughly estimate ~5,000 cloth and paperback books.

I have visited libraries across the US - Braintree (John Adams's home), Monticello, Washington, D.C., Hearst Castle (CA), The Huntington (CA), Harvard, Mission Carmel (1st library on the west coast north of Mexico), Montpelier (James Madison's home), the Naval Institute in Annapolis - and in Florence, Rome, the Vatican, Russia, where ever they'll let me in, even if I don't speak the language!

Tho' my collection is primarily used and rare books, I'm known for keeping more than one retail bookstore profitable in my pursuits.
