I enjoy reading a variety of books: fiction (especially nineteenth-century Victorian novels, American realist fiction, and foreign-language novels in translation); religious history; historical surveys; biographies; overviews on physics, astronomy, and biology; and--my guilty pleasure--science fiction and fantasy. My Library Thing collection is only a partial list of the books I've read in the last decade.

About Me

For over a decade, I have been the director of marketing and production for The Library of America. I read for work and I read for pleasure, and the boundary between the two is nonexistent. I also have an MA in medieval history from a previous life.
