About My Library
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

The Brocken Mountain Library is the online database that lists all books that members of MITHRAS Oasis, OTO are willing to informally lend out to other members, or initiates in the OTO.

This list was started in the hope that our small "library" of titles can serve as a resource for free men & women. At this time, email requests to borrow any item may be made by any initiate within MITHRAS Oasis, or by any individual of the "Minerval" degree within the MITHRAS Oasis, or by any initiate (of First Degree or above) who is in good standing within a chartered body of Ordo Templi Orientis (NOTE: Because all titles are located in Connecticut, we kindly request that you attend one of our events in order to borrow any title).

A "Brocken" in German is a large, shapeless mass. The size of the Brocken, or The Blocksberg, the highest peak on the Harz mountain range in Germany, may be the source of its name. The Brocken Mountain Library is shapeless and growing, the contents of which are currently in the homes & personal libraries of the brothers and sisters of MITHRAS Encampment, the Connecticut chapter of Ordo Templi Orientis. Arrangements will be made to lend out any requested material so that a custodian of any requested titles can deliver the material at events sponsored by MITHRAS Encampment, or arrangements can be made to mail books out as they are requested (please email fr_xvarnah@mithras-oto.org)

Likewise, one can email questions concerning this online Library database by MITHRAS Oasis. Loans are usually designated to last up to a period of 90 days. Please make requests by emailing fr_xvarnah@mithras-oto.org

(please note, all items possessing the TAG "reference" may have special restrictions placed upon that item, and loans of these items might not be permissible, but we will try to accommodate such requests on a case-by-case basis).

Love is the law, love under will.

About Me
WELCOME TO THE BROCKEN MOUNTAIN LIBRARY.

The Brocken, or The Blocksberg, is the highest peak on the Harz mountain range in Germany. Goethe famously described the Brocken in his Faust (1808) as the center of revelry for witches on Walpurgisnacht. A famous visitor to Brocken Mountain, author Heinrich Heine, wrote the book Harzreise ("A Harz Journey") published in 1826, in which he says:

"The mountain somehow appears so Germanically stoical, so understanding, so tolerant, just because it affords a view so high and wide and clear. And should such mountain open its giant eyes, it may well see more than we, who like dwarfs just trample on it, staring from stupid eyes."
