Om migNew and highly recognized author, Bethany Bourgeois, is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, who dedicates her time to creating fictional escapes for women of all ages and cultures. Even as a child, Bourgeois always had a strong urge and desire to write stories about life’s gifts… and its misfortunes, bringing truth into a paperbound world of fiction. After being accepted into an intense law program, Bourgeois decided to give back to her community, and pursue a degree as a registered nurse. Following graduation, Bourgeois accepted an offer as a BSN oncology nurse, at the prestigious and well-known “M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital,” in Houston, TX. Months later, she began devoting her free days to what she enjoys most- writing. Her first novel, “Mirror…Mirror,” was carefully written and tailored to relate to the many tribulations surrounding the globe, including: drug addiction, abortion, suicide, sexually transmitted diseases, homosexuality, and ect. In a setting faintly resembling the hit TV show, Sex and the City, Bourgeois carefully constructed and chronicled the story of five successful women with seemingly perfect lives. Unknown to many, this impression of perfection is refuted by the problems that beset each one. No matter how desperate or disgraceful the turns their lives take, Bourgeois portrays each woman’s certainty in the lifelong steadfastness of their friendship. Through her five protagonists’ tales, set in festive New Orleans, Bourgeois demonstrates the complications that people create in their lives. While this may be the case, the experiences of Bourgeois’ characters show that things aren’t always as they seem, and at second glance, a mirror’s reflection can show hidden “Depictions of Shattered Glass.”

This book brings a sense of morals to light, giving a profound message about the mistakes that can be changed… and the ones that can affect you – for the remainder of your life.
