This is a funny book talking about how she likes to eat her classmates but then a fish tries to eat her so she understands her classmates pain. (1), I Don't Want to Be a Frog is a fiction book created by Dev Petty. This is a good book showing students how to do the things you like because you like them. (1), The Cat in the Hat is a childrens literature book created by Dr.Seuss. This book is a classic. You could do a writing lesson about what you would do if the Cat in the Hat came into your home. (1), the Places You'll Go! Is a childrens literature book created by Dr. Seuss. I think this book is amazing. I love that it talks about how you will go through rough times and good times but you will get there. A powerful message that I didn't understand unti (1), "a person is a person no matter how small". I also grew up reading these and absolutely adored them. It may be lengthy for younger students but perfect for a little older students. (1), Horton Hears a Who! Is a childrens literature book created by Dr. Seuss. This book shows inclusiveness (1), Who Hops? By Katie Davis is a fiction book. It is a good book for younger students. It would keep students engaged because it asks questions like "who hops" and provides a silly answer. This book would be perfect for students to think outside of the box. (1), they almost look like they were inspired by Andy Warhol. (1), The Day You Begin is a picture book created by Jacqueline Woodson. This book is a good book for students to make connections with. It talks about how you may be different in some way but that its okay. (1), My Princess Boy is a nonfiction picture book created by Cheryl Kilodavis. I am not sure how much controversy this would bring into a classroom but I love this book. It gives a powerful message to keep doing what you like because you like it even though it (1), Pink Is for Boys is a childrens literature book created by Robb Pearlman. I read this book and instantly fell in love. It is simplistic yet sends a beautiful message. It is incredibly inclusive. It smashes gender controversies which is important to me. (1), Each Kindness by Jacqueline Woodson is a fiction book. This is a wonderful book for students to remember to always be kind. The ending isn't what you'd expect and it shows a very powerful message. (1), The Skin I'm In is a fiction book created by Pat Thomas. This book is wonderful for inclusiveness and dives into inclusiveness. I think the issue with this book is that it talks about racism but doesn't really show it for students to understand. (1), This book would be perfect for younger students because there are short repetitive sentences. It also is inclusive to more students because it is in Spanish and English. (1), It's Okay To Be Different is a fiction book written by Todd Parr. This is a really great book for inclusion. I love the illustrations (1), Yo! Yes? is a fiction book written by Chris Rashka. This is a really simple book. It is sweet and students can relate to being in that situation at least once (1), and engaging. It also shows a slightly different perspective which can allow students to feel like they are represented in literature. (1), The Rainbow Fish is a fiction book created by Marcus Pfister. This was a book I grew up reading. There more I think about it now I have come to realize that he is a special fish that others grow towards hating. The illustrations in this book are incredibl (1), Last Stop on Market Street is a fiction book created by Matt de la Pena. This is a really great book to put in your classroom. It is great for students to see that they too have amazing lifes with or without materials such as a car. (1), The Day the Crayons Quit is a fiction book created by Drew Daywalt. This book would be good for 4 and 5 year olds. It could be a good way to show students how to write letters and the format of the letters. (1), Duck! Rabbit! is a fiction book written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. I love the simplicity of this book. You could use this book to talk about perspective with students. (1), Molly Lou Melon is a fiction book created by Patty Lovell. This book is a book I will have in my classroom. The illustrations are different yet amazing. This was a book my parents read to me as a young child. I loved it because it captures how amazing a snowy day is as well as the child's excitement. (1), A Bad Case Of Stripes is a fiction book written by David Shannon.I loved this book growing up. It is a good book to talk about the affects of peer pressure with students. (1), Moo Cows That Type is a fiction book written by Doreen Cronin. This is a book I learned how to read to in kindergarten. Its silly and amusing. It uses a lot of repetition and can be used for predicting. (1), and fiction. It is written by David Shannon. I grew up loving this book but as I got older it became a little more controversial. But students can connect with it because they are always being told no. I think it could be a book about discussion. I was recently talking with my roommates mom about how I was perusing a career in education. She knew how much I loved soccer from previous conversations and she asked me if I had ever read this (1), Really Angry is a fiction book as well as picture book written by Molly Bang.
