A forbidding Victorian mansion, crumbling old castle or an exotic local. A young woman thrown into a situation with intrigue, danger, murder, mystery and a dash of love; these are the novels often called Gothics or Romantic Intrigue. Popular mainly from the 50’s to the 70’s this genre can also easily be identified by their wonderful cover art of a lovely young woman either with a look of fright or in the act of running with a beautiful old edifice in the background.
