SSPX Update i Catholic Tradition (april 2013)

Anmeldelser

This booklet contains a copy of a letter sent in 2004 from the SSPX to all the Cardinals of the Church. Supporting documents sent with the letter that are included and are very clearly worded and documented analysis of Ecumenism. Now this same study has been sent to every Catholic bishop in the world so not one bishop or cardinal can say they are not aware of this study. This study now needs to be sent to any priest and religious who request it.

This study as the booklet is titled 'from Ecumenism to Silent Apostasy'. The study includes an analysis of ecumenical thought, the doctrinal problems posed by ecumenism and the pastoral problems posed by ecumenism. Also included in this booklet is a short interview with Bishop Fellay and two appendices which contain the modernest conciliar speech by Cardinal Kasper on ecumenism and two excerpts from the writings of Cardinal Pie “on the Duties of Priests” which are in stark contrast to the ecumenical speech of Cardinal Kasper.… (mere)

If you have trouble explaining why the new Mass should not be accepted, this book explains it well. The Traditional Mass, known as the Tridentine Mass, is the valid Mass. This book shows how the Novus Ordo broke with liturgical tradition of the Catholic Church. And it shows how the new teachings of the Catholic Church are condemned by the traditional Catholic doctrine. Whether you agree with this or not, the book will give you some insight.

The title says it all. The book opens with a list of some guiding principles. After which, the first half of the book explains in detail, through question and answer format. Through this method the position of the Society of Saint Pius X is made clear. Especially when it comes to the subject of the Pope, the New Mass and the new (1983) Code of Canon Law.

The second half of the book presents a thorough, yet brief, history of the first twenty-five years of the Society of Saint Pius X. And numerous photos support this history.

Read this book and then make your own intelligent and educated decisions. A must read to understand about what the Society stands for.

This book is a collection of independent articles by various authors. It ends with a letter of Saint Athanasius himself. These various essays try to answer the questions that came about in 1988 about excommunication and schism because of the Episcopal Consecrations of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. And by association so was the status of the Society of Saint Pius X. Both the Archbishop and the Society are known supporters of Catholic Tradition.

The articles do a good job on showing how he did not incur an excommunication according to canon law. This is one of the strongest arguments in the book. Also shown is how the Vatican II instituted new ideas that ignored the tradition of the Church. And we can see some support from both sides. The book also tries to answer, is Catholic Tradition arbitrary?

These essays are a good collection of studies explaining the situation of Tradition within the Catholic Church. Even though this was first published in English in 1993, many Catholics are still unaware of this conflict within the Church.

Two quotes on the back cover grab your attention. The first is by Pope Saint Pius X, "The true friends of the people are neither revolutionaries nor innovators, but men of tradition." And "Even if Catholics faithful to Tradition are reduced to a handful, they are the ones who are the True Church of Jesus Christ," by Saint Athanasius.
