Do you love horror, dark, twisted looks into the minds of a serial killers, and truly scary stuff? If so, this is the perfect book for you! All serial killers, all the time. Author DM Wolfenden writes with quick, readable prose, delving into the dark and the twisty psychological.

Her collection of short stories have the perfect amount of description to immerse you in each setting while keeping the pacing quick and light. You might enjoy a tale of a woman in prison recounting the dark story of her new neighbor to a reporter, or some creepy serial killer-inspired poetry with delightfully witty rhyming verse. “Exit Sign” throws us right into the middle of the action with an awesome zombie short story. (This was my personal favorite.) A little something for every fan of horror.

Trigger warnings: sexual assault, murder, torture, graphic violence

4.5 / 5 stars.

This is the story of scars, both emotional and physical. Jolie has had her share of them. All she wants is to find love. All that surrounds her is abuse. Can she break out of the pattern.

This book has a refreshing everyday charm to it, but still deals with dark subject matter and may not be appropriate for all readers. I laughed, got frustrated and teared up a little. An A read.
