2 Just not for me stars

When I started this book I was EXCITED after reading all of the reviews I thought I had hit a goldmine when I read this book. It was everything I normally like in a book but, boy was I disappointed. I did give this book 2 stars because Edward Wolfe is a hell of an author and deserves that. The book it was short and it disappointed me when I read a short story that ends in a cliffhanger making the reader have to purchase book 2 in the series. PUT IT ALL IN ONE BOOK! I didn't like the characters and I didn't like the story. This was a serious let down for me!

The story in this novella is a great one. I like the idea of exploring the outside forces that can mold a human's character. The author has a creative mind for a great plot.

Attempting to review without spoilers . . .
Some of the story lines in the book were over-explained and others begged for more explanation. Also, there were parts of the book that were confusing. For instance, Lance tells the doctor to not call him by his last name because it makes him think his father just walked into the room . . . but other parts of the book said that he grew up in the foster system. Also, it would have been nice to learn more about exactly what happens with Devon, and what exactly "his side" is.

I am likely to read other titles by this author.… (mere)
