Very creative, extremely alien-feeling story about Storm, who is a Sarlish; a being with fours arms and a tail, and fangs, who normally lives in a pack structure. However, his have all died, and he is now looking for D'tani, a Ma'arish who saved him. When he find him, he also discovers D'tani has already bonded - with Kourn. Something is off in that bond though, and they set about fixing that in typical warrior fashion - with fight.

We get a very brief glimpse of this warrior culture, some interesting customs and these three men's needs and wishes. Totally fascinating, if somewhat on the weird side. I'd love to see this world explored further!… (mere)
