Overall a cute picture book. The words are take it or leave it but what keeps my kids (and myself) coming back to this book are the illustrations! It's such a lovely book! And the quality is excellent. It's a joy to read just from how the pages feel as you flip the pages, the paper they use is so nice and thick!

This lovely picture book can be used both as a bedtime story and as narrative nonfiction about animals in the Serengeti. While returning to its burrow at evening, a mongoose passes groups of eight other types of animals settling down to sleep. Clare Helen Walsh's text describes how each animal sleeps, accompanied by Jenny Løvlie's lush illustrations on a double-page spread. Each spread ends with a repetition of the book's title. The book ends with three pages of additional facts about the nine animals in the story. Although I had trouble reading the text on some of the pages (the contrast between the text color and the background color was not high enough for my 67-year-old eyes), I'd recommend this book.… (mere)

Wow, I was so excited to read this book. It is beautiful internally and externally. It is hardcover with a beautiful shiny dustcover. The illustrations are gorgeous. I like the style of writing because it almost has a poetic lilt to it. There are rich descriptions and metaphors. At the end the author includes more information about each type of animal, and the facts are very interesting. Over all, a really well-done book.

Totally visual delight! The story is that of a little one who falls asleep to become beguiled by the stars in the sky, especially the Ursa.
The illustrations by Carolina T. Godina are multiple, imaginative, colorful, and representative.
There are remarkably few words but it is great for sharing WITH someone of any age, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school, hospital, or your local public library!
