I loved the way the author presented these two characters. This was a pull your heartstrings love story between two young people from very different backgrounds. I received this book from Library Things Early Reviewer program for an honest review.

Such a fun simple read! I wish that the characters releationship had more depth but the twists and turns during the story kept me interested and invested in the story. 4/5 stars

In this young adult book by Kelli Warner we are introduced to Paige and Cade who are drawn together despite their circumstances not being the best for starting a relationship. Paige is dealing with the grief of losing her mother and Cade is dealing with fallout from his past.

I enjoyed this book. The main characters grow and change and the romance is not too over the top for the YA audience that it is intended for.

3.5 stars.
This story is an interesting story about starting over and young love. Paige Bryant has to move in with her father after her mother passed away. The problem is that she didn’t know she had a father until her mother’s Will was read and he didn’t know about her either. Dealing with the loss of the only parent one knows and moving with the new parent who has a family...what a dicey situation for a grieving adolescent. Then add the fact that her new dad is the principal of her new high school, that spells awkward Paige’s social life.

Paige does make a connect with the resident bad boy Cade Matthews and they bonded over mutual loss. Soon, the sneaking around begins. The journey for Paige was wrought with angst, anger, forgiveness and healing.

My man issue was her mother’s secret and diary, and the ending was really rushed. Other than that, this was a solid story, written in a realistic manner. I liked all the characters and was pleased with ending.
