The first few pages are promising. I love how the girl describes how her parents, who are both deaf, sign and drive at the same time. It's a completely different way of interacting with the world.

An interesting and often heart-wrenching story of self discovery.

Amy is about a real deaf child. Students learn about her emotions and family life. It's dated but interesting. students could have difficulty staying focused or lose interest.
