Christopher Vincent has tried his best to avoid drawing attention to his psychic abilities. That's more of his mother's thing, and he'd like to try to live a normal life. But when a bit of desperation leads him to accept a job as a psychic at his friend's club, it looks like he may have no choice. And then there's the issue of his friend's brother, Jack. Chris can't keep his eyes off the man, and they even had a brief encounter years ago, but they're from two different worlds. Which is made even more apparent by Jack's clear disapproval of Chris's work in the club. But when a mysterious stranger begins to target the three of them, they may all have to rely on Chris's abilities even more than any of them expected. And it just might be what's needed for Chris to break down the wall between him and Jack once and for all.

I would describe this as a light and easy read, despite the fact that there's a very dark character hanging out on the periphery for most of the book. There are some definite twists and turns that I didn't expect while still keeping many of the elements one might expect from a romantic thriller. Enjoyable, entertaining, and recommended.… (mere)

Different from the previous books in the ‘Dreamspun Desires’ series, there is a strong psychic element in this story – pretty much exactly what the title promises. I was a little surprised by that, but in the end, it fit the storyline and I was “warned”, so I’m not going to complain. More importantly, it is a great “second chance at love” tale about two men who change from somewhat hostile to very much in love. And to top it all off they face a mystery - think creepy encounters, stalker, threats, and deadly attacks. As a result, there is a lot going on in this action-packed novel, and I’d suggest you get ready to read it in one sitting because it definitely is not easy to put this one down once you start.

Chris, after losing his job and having to take care of his psychic mother after she had a stroke, is just desperate enough for a job to accept the slightly crazy offer his friend, Angelica, makes him. She needs a psychic for her new club, he can play that role and needs the money, so they strike a deal. There are only a few problems with this: Chris really is a psychic and has been having visions around water, his mother believes Angelica is in real danger – and water is involved, and Angelica’s brother, Jack, is adamantly opposed to having a pretend-psychic in the club he owns with her. Chris has got his work cut out for him!

Jack does not believe in psychics. He can’t believe his sister hired one without telling him, and he is determined to prove the man is a charlatan so he can get rid of him. They may have met briefly about five years before, but Jack is not going to accept a fraud ruining his company’s image. But his sister, who is in charge of the club part of their joint hotel/club venture, refuses to fire Chris. Then Chris manages to “pass” all the tests Jack can come up with, the old attraction comes back to life, and Jack begins to change his mind.

What makes them work together is the threat Chris’s mother has sensed and Chris has nightmares about. As the violence escalates, Chris and Jack become closer, and the increasing danger only makes them realize how well suited they are not only to work together, but to be partners in every sense of the word. If, that is, they can survive the attacks and the mayhem caused by a homicidal maniac who gets crazier by the day.

If you like your romance with a dose of danger and suspense, if you think two men who connected years ago but lost sight of each other deserve a second chance at love, and if you’re looking for an action-packed, suspenseful read with an intriguing mystery at its heart, then you will probably like this novel.
