Kathleen Valentine

Revisiting my Read list - this tale is surprisingly memorable for a novella. Probably because I'm a sucker for the setting. I am not too big on romances, particularly anything that skirts up on adultery, but I'd consider another Valentine story involving ghosts or spooky old amusement/theater districts.

I just noticed that this author wrote the 'halcyon beach' novella with unusual memory-sticking power, and I remember this one all these months later, so maybe that means I like her writing style. Mostly I remember being annoyed that the title of this one made me expect a very different kind of book. Still though, with a little effort, I recall the very atmospheric descriptions and the moderately original resolution so I'm letting her keep all three stars I gave last winter.
