Deep in the swamp, a baby alligator crawls out of its broken shell. What's in store for this little reptile? Follow it through its first adventures, and get a glimpse into the world of these amazing creatures. The easy-to-read text describes how alligators live, from what they eat to how they swim so quickly. You'll also find fun facts about alligators' dinosaur-hunting ancestors and their more contemporary cousin, the crocodile.

Written for children, this volume presents a brief outline of the life of the alligator from hatching from the egg to surviving the first weeks of life. The author also explains how alligators have existed since the days of the dinosaurs. One fact i learned from this is that alligators are found only in the southern USA and China. Crocodiles are found all over the world.

I loved the book, Three Hungry Spiders and One Fat Fly by Dawn Bentley, because the story is exciting and the toy spiders on the pages engages the children and helps direct their attention and focus. I read this story to my nephews Kindergarten class and all of the children enjoyed it very much. The story has a lot of repetitive language which is helpful for children in a Kindergarten class because they are beginning learners and memorization is a beginning part of reading. The illustrations are also very good and the bright colors make the pictures exciting. This book is not about Halloween but would be considered a good book to bring out around Halloween because spiders are a traditional halloween animal.… (mere)

An entertaining book with engaging flaps allows youngsters to explore the small world of bugs as various creatures--including a butterfly, a ladybug, and a bumble bee--hide among the trees, grass, and flowers. This is great book for science.
