Appointment With Venus
Great book.
A small but perfectly formed book which makes me cry every time I read it. Though somewhat romanticised it gives such a beautiful view of what humans are capable of if the value decency, love and peace and their piece of earth above war and greed and pride.
Solid, if unspectacular. A good read about the truly amazing pilots and operatives who flew in and out of Europe in tiny unarmed planes and landed in the dark in fields.
This is an old book but a wonderful and beautiful story. If you like the The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society you will enjoy this book.
