Margaret Stohl is a graduate of Amherst College, where she won the Knox Prize for English Literature. She also received a master's degree in English from Stanford University, completed coursework for a doctorate in American studies at Yale University, was a teaching assistant in Romantic Poetry at vis mere Stanford and in Film Studies at Yale, and attended the Creative Writing program of the University of East Anglia. She is a veteran of the video-game industry, and after working with Activision and Westwood, she cofounded 7 Studios with her husband. Stohl is the co-author of the Beautiful Creatures series with Kami Garcia. She is also the author of Icons, which is the first book in the Icons series. Beautiful Chaos (Beautiful Creatures) af Kami Garcia
too long, drags on too much
2.5 stars. Not as great as DeConnick's run, and Carol seems a little off character after the events of Civil War II. I still enjoyed this but it wasn't brilliant.
Captain Marvel faces the chitauri, with aid from the Guardians of the Galaxy, as Secret Empire begins. Captain Marvel finds herself having to fight for the fate of the Earth by taking on an entire alien fleet bound for earth while Captain America goes all Hydra jerk on us. Not my favorite version of Captain America but I'm down for a good space fight and I love it when Captain Marvel teams up the Guardians. Additionally, I think that this storyline gave Carol the chance to really rise up and be her old snarky, inspiring self again and that was refreshing.… (mere)
Captain Marvel gets zapped into a mirror universe where she's a thief (and Thanos is good! and Starlord is Starkiller!) while trying to save Bean. It had some funny moments but overall the story-line was sadly bland.
