Easily the most approachable medical text I’ve ever sat down to read. Despite it’s sometimes nightmarish subject matter, the V Book is extremely engaging and illuminating and if not for the great many acronyms I’d almost call it an easy read. Stewart’s approach to the often difficult or confusing world of vulvovaginal care is very well structured and offers many personal examples for each chapter discussed. Yet, the V Book is by no means a short read--every chapter explores the topic thoroughly with many charts and procedures explained. There was never a time when I felt I couldn’t understand or needed something elaborated. There were likely fewer illustrations and photos than a medical student is used to seeing, but if this was their only text on the subject, they wouldn’t lack knowledge. I’m not sure I would give it to a young teen, but certainly a high schooler could tackle this one and come away with a far better understanding than she might otherwise have had.… (mere)

Dr. Stewart has provided a wonderful resource for women's health with this book. She has divided the book into three parts: An Owner's Manual, When You Need Help, and Problem and Answer Guide. The information is detailed and very accessible to the average reader. Throughout the book are strewn fun-facts about the Vs (the Vulva, the Vagina, and the Vestibule). The illustrations are beautiful and tastefully done. However, the black-and-white photographs aren't nearly as clear, but that's really my only complaint. The V Book has a little bit of everything in it from history to health and hygiene.

This book is amazing. It was so good in fact, I ordered a copy to have on hand.
