VENUS
By Ray Sangenburg and Kit Moser

Venus is considered as Earth's sister because well this book told me. Venus is one of the brightest planet if not the brightest. The planets closest to the sun is Mercury,Venus and then Earth as you can see they are really close earth and venus. Venus has no moon. Venus turns very slowly and takes a long time for a day. Venus the planet is actually about the same size and earth and venus are both rocky. They also may have the same terrain. One of the big differences are the heat its very hot. Like crazy hot. They also have acid rain. People had a hard time to believe that they were not the center of the universe. Then they talked about robots that went there. The people to send a robot was the soviet union it was called Sputnik. People also thought that it had volcanoes as land. We don't know the mysterious of it but i hope we find out.

I thought it was a good book. People would like this book to if you like outer space. Also if you like science. So i liked it. So i recommend you read this boo

If an Asteroid Hit Earth (Out of This World), by Ray Spangenburg and Kit Moser, is a compact study of asteroids and their looming presence and relatively close proximity to Earth. The book dramatically begins with a supposition of what a large asteroid strike on the planet would be like. From there, it chronicles past asteroid collisions before discussing in terse description just how many giant-sized asteroids pass through Earth's orbit on a regular basis. Pictures of some of these NEAs (near-Earth asteroids) taken from research satellites over the past couple of decades accentuate the book's findings, and the startling revelation that only about 250 of the 500 to 1,000 NEAs have been spotted grips the readers interest all the more further. Helpful, easy-to-read charts are scattered throughout. This book would be a vital addition to the section of a middle school library reserved for Earth science and other books on the solar system.… (mere)
