The "i'm gay" bit really should have been left out, it seemed to only be there to wave that flag when in the end all of the cast was indifferent to sex organs when it came to being attracted to someone. Someone doesn't "turn" a gay person, so it kind of shredded that ending storyline for me.
Cassandras personal arc of not having faith in herself probably would have been solved a lot sooner had she not been surrounded by a house of hunks constantly talking about how awesome they are. ha. kidding. Her personal growth was empowering, yet sad. It took her so long to realized that she has the power within her all along, and just needed to be self confident. Is that a spoiler? I don't think so.
I was very surprised at the level of erotica. Not sure if that is normal for this genre, romance had me thinking fade to black sex scenes, but this was full on descriptions.
The storyline was very wordy and contained much more dialogue than I expected. I think more than 75% of the book was dialogue. It was super intriguing to read a book written in this manner. There were many side tangents, and flash backs used as info dumping moments. The ending was very spelled out, drawing out every line for the reader, making sure every dot was verbally connected. A vast contrast to what I usually read. Overall writing quality was good, and I can see the appeal to these stories.
Not sure if I will read another book in this genre but had to check it out just for giggles. I looked into this series, and love that there are going to be spin off series for other super natural characters within this story. Great way to spread out in the world and get to know all the aspects. Which is my favorite way to read.… (mere)
