NCLA Review -This uplifting children’s book is about six classmates in Grover Cleveland Elementary School who are brought together by their love of jumping “double dutch.” They decide to enter a rope jumping contest and in order to do this they need to practice every chance they get. They also need to find a sponsor and raise the entry fee. These girls, who come from diverse backgrounds, learn that winning is not everything. They are enriched by learning the importance of working together to achieve goals and as they hone their jumping skills, they also learn patience, kindness and the value of friendship. Ages 9-12.
