A quick read, not necessarily bad, but nothing that sets it apart from any of the other Vader comics.

Following Hock's journey from the Clone Wars to its end in the Dark Times era was interesting enough. I typically enjoy these types a stories. You follow a character as they go through some serious stuff, and in the end they reflect on what they have been through and come to some kind of realization or turning point. The problem with Darth Vader and the Cry of Shadows is that the motivations behind Hock's journey don't seem that believable. In the end I was confused about what Hock actually learned besides he lived a life he will forever regret.… (mere)
