This is an interesting and varied compilation of true crime stories written by different authors. For some, the details are glossed over while other stories have more detail. In either case, this book is not for the faint at heart. Though that may seem obvious, there are other non-fiction true crime books that don't go into as much graphic detail as some of the stories in this one does.

It is written very with very simple syntax and in a note at the beginning of the book. Regardless of their reading level, anyone can 'enjoy' this book. It was a bit too simple for my tastes though I can't fault the publisher for that - they do state that clearly in a note at the beginning of the book so you know to expect it. Still not a difficult read (aside from some of the subject matter) and I got used to the style after a bit.

For anyone who likes true crime, this would suit those tastes very well.

I received this book through Early Reviewers. I am both a true crime and a trivia buff, so I thought this book would be great. I was very, very wrong. First - this book is absolutely not trivia! This is a badly written intro to who's who in true crime. Trivia is defined by the dictionary as a noun meaning "details or information that are not important" - little bits of interesting information about a topic. There was no trivia in this book, just questions and answers written like a superficial school report. Far from a good read, it was basic, superficial, and not really anything new to anyone who follows true crime.… (mere)

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this!

I'm a crime junkie. I really like reading/watching about crimes, serial killers, and everything of the sort. I'm also really into trivia, so to combine these, I was really excited to get into this. But, personally, I was let down. I wouldn't necessarily call this trivia or have that in the title. Possibly just stories or facts? Sure. Now, my rating is based on the fact that these aren't unknown stories or facts about the people mentioned; they are all mostly famous crimes and killers. That might work for someone who isn't a fan of reading/watching crime, but it doesn't for me. It also reads so fast that, I don't know, felt like it could have been more to the stories instead of just 'Here's the story. Done' kind of style.

I just expected so much more, I guess, from this and was let down with it. But you should give it a read to see what you think!

Thank you Librarything for allowing me to win a copy of this book. I had fun reading it. It gave different take on a normal true crime book. It asked you a question then gave you an answer on it. There were some crimes I knew of and there were some I did not know of. Being a crime junkie I thought this was a fun read. And it did jump around from different criminals and murders but it made sense since each chapter was something different. If you want a quick book on some facts about murderers I say give this one a chance.… (mere)
