This is the second of Dr. Deborah Serani Psy.D books I have reviewed. These are excellent in helping a young child explore their feelings. This one on boredom is particularly helpful as it acknowledges the different ways boredom manifests but also gives solutions. this book helps parents and children alike to find ways to bust the boredom bubble. Give it a read, something special may be waiting for you !

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wow, a psychological thriller is a perfect description of The Ninth Session. Serani does not disappoint on the thrills or suspense right up to the end. The Ninth Session is an easy and fast read. I could not put it down after the first chapter, a definite page-turner.

Dr. Alicia Reese takes on a new patient, Lucas Ferro who suffers from severe anxiety. The more he shares with Alicia the more dangerous her world becomes. If you love a riveting psychological thriller as I do you will not want to pass this one up. Best psychological thriller I have read this year for sure.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book has wonderful illustrations depicting the emotions of the child experiencing anxiety and worry. What I love about this is the pictures are done in a soft watercolor style. They emit a calming vibe to the story. The child goes through several situations where she experiences worry, fear, or anxiety. Each time a family member gives her a coping mechanism to help relieve the situation. There is also a guide at the end to help caregivers or teachers assist a child in those types of situations. This would be a great book to start a conversation with a child you feel may be experiencing anxiety or fear but does not know how to voice it.… (mere)

This was a very quick read. The protagonist is a psychologist and she has a new client. Initially, she thought he might be able to be helped. However, as the sessions kept passing he told her in passing that he knew where a dead body was that the police have no idea. Well she becomes very guarded and then the ninth session happens and that’s when things really get twisty. Highly recommend and I listened to the audio and it’s read by the author which I always enjoy.
