KID'S BOOK CLUB! January's selection is The Way to Stay in Destiny by local writer Augusta Scattergood, author of GLORY BE, which was on the Sunshine State list last year. Monday, January 26 6:30 pm About the club: Our kid's book club is moderated by IW bookseller Amanda, and open to kids in the 4th-6th grade (or really good readers in the 3rd grade). We know the kids are busy with school reading, but we like to emphasize the importance (and fun!) of reading for pleasure. We ask that books be purchased from Inkwood to join in, and we provide pizza and drinks for $5. Hope to see you there! Jesslyn, her sister and former confidante, no longer has the time of day for her now that she’ll be entering high school. Then there’s her best friend, Frankie. Things have always been so easy with Frankie, and now suddenly they aren’t. Maybe it’s the new girl from the North that’s got everyone out of sorts. Or maybe it’s the debate about whether or not the town should keep the segregated public pool open.
