John Calvin Reid (1901–1996)

I'm rather afraid to re-read this as an adult as my ideas about morality tales has altered in the intervening years. However, I remember these as being gentle and delightful and not hitting me over the head with the moral. Also, my mother was a bird watcher, so, of all the animal stories I read, these were a particular favorite.

I grew up hearing these stories in person. I was amazed to find this book at a local used store and my being able to read them again. Very good moral stories using animals to interest children.
