This was a disturbing book for me to read - on many levels. It is the story of two Marines, one now on his way to becoming a doctor and the other just having received a medical discharge, is full of physical and emotional pain and abuse. I guess it is meant to deal with some of the trauma men undergo when they are put in horrible situations, but the way in which it happened in this book made it extremely hard for me to come to terms with it or even understand how the two main characters got through it. The amount of violence referred to (even if 'only' in flashbacks and Vance telling Ben) made me cringe.

Thinking about why I fee left hanging, I have come to the conclusion that it may be because the emphasis is on the suffering and pain, Vance torturing himself for what he has done, and Ben waiting for Vance to finally come to him so they can resolve their issues. The discussion that starts the healing process is barely over and - bam - the book ends. That was what it felt like. For me to feel better, I wuld have needed to see how Ben adn Vance dealt with the pain, and how they healed; not just seeing them 'a few weeks later' with everything suddenly okay.

If you want to find out more about the emotions of someone who has been made to do gruesome things, and don't mind the lack of a more detailed resolution, this book might be for you. It is real, gritty and heart breaking - utterly realistic. Just not a relaity I deal with very well at all.

YES YES YES - A new BDSM Club series and it was as awesome as I hoped it would be.

Rose owns her own sweet shop and loves working with her hands creating candies and cakes and pastries. Something she loves even more is the man who runs the wine business next to her. But she doesn't really thinks she has a chance with him being that she is over 6 foot tall and has curves all over. Hence her current predicament of being a 26 year old virgin living with her mother.

Ibraham has noticed the tall the voluptuous woman and would love nothing better that to have her as his sub but after having a taste of her and finding out how innocent she really is he takes to step back to think about how to handle things.

In the mean time Rose's mother and her friends at there weekly card game all decide its time for there daughters to find men and plot how to make that happen by forming the The Poker Posse.

Rose and her friends Mirabeth (who is pregnant), Ellie, Ari, and Norah have all also decided that they are going after the type of men they want and they know just the place they are going to start looking - at the Omen, the local BDSM club. What the girls don't know is on the same night they go to the club their mother's also show up to check the place out looking for men for there daughters - This leads to some very funny moments.

As this is the first book in the series we are introduced to a large cast of characters. Not only the girls and there mothers but also quite a few doms that were competing for a bit for the spot light :) We also find out that Rose's mom Viola has a connection to the BDSM life and what a surprise it was.

So I got a bit off course there - Rose and Ibraham are the main couple in this book and Ibraham did a great job of not rushing into things with Rose. He took his time showing her about the kinks he likes to make sure its something she really things she could handle. I thought it was very tastefully and beautifully done.

There are many more characters that were introduced which I am sure will be in future books but to many to name here. I am ready for the next book in the series NOW - but alas I know I am going to have to be a good little subbie and wait.

Good suspense with a quirky heroine and a sexy Deputy US Marshal.

The heroine has a job we all hate. She works for a bill collector agency in Alaska. In one of her latest quest to find a man that owes money that has been turned over to collections she discovers something is fishy about the man's name and tracks it back to Texas. When she makes a phone call she doesnt realize this is going to set off the radar of a Texas US Marshal Seth Vassar who's been looking for killer for 5 years.

After Wynne is interviews by the Marshall and the FBI she doesn't just sit back and lick her wounds after losing her job. No, she decides to keep on investigating (and actually does a better job than the FBI and Marshall's have) and help find the real identity of the killer, not realizing this puts her on the radar of the killer.

The tension between Wynne and Seth is hot from the beginning but Wynne doesnt play the damsel in distress well and certainly gives Seth a run for his money.
