Despite the fact that this is clearly erotica, I had a good time with this one. I say I like it despite the erotica but I do enjoy erotica. Going into erotica, I need a certain mindset. I think with this one, alot more time was spent building up to the sex and capturing the ambiance of the setting that it drew me in naturally. It helps that the sex scenes were really well done. The story had this very surreal feeling, like it was all a bizzare dream.

The romance was very light, it really was just a sexual encounter, but the amount of passion on display made me feel a connection between the characters.

Its not high art, but I thought this was a good read. Maybe I'm wrong, or just a huge pervert, but I liked it… (mere)

Would have been much better if it had more time to flesh things out more. I really enjoy the concept but I think it would have been better had we seen how the friendship was rekindled. More importantly, it probably would have been better had the story started before the friendship ended to give us a sense of what the dynamic of the friendship was so we can contrast it to what its like now. Also, Kelly really needed to be in the story more. Her confession at the end feels like it comes out of nowhere, had the story focused on her more there would have been a whole other dimension to everything.

All is not negative, I liked some of the scenes and the maturity of the main character. I also liked the way the whole story ended, it was unique and it made sense. Part of my desire to know more about Kelly comes from the ending, had we known more about Kelly and her feelings then the ending would have been more satisfying because Kelly is likable.

In the end it is a short story so expectations are naturally lower, but my grievances come from the potential I see in the story. While it needed things to be more fleshed out, the style and dialogue weren't bad. Some of the exchanges had alot of weight to them.… (mere)
