This book is a very clean and wonderful story. I loved the title and it gave me a feeling of hope. The holidays can be hard for people who are suffering a loss. Melody is such a great character. I love that she owns a bookstore which attracts lots of people. She may seem happy at times, but her heart is broken after a devastating loss of someone she loved. Melody has a great friend is Cass and I found her to be the kind of friend everyone would want to be around.

Jack has returned to earth to complete a mission. He wants to find someone for Melody so she will be happy again. This type of book is one I love to read because it is filled with hope and emotions that penetrate the heart. The author really does a great job of developing Jack/Oliver . I can see why Melody fell in love with him. In this cute story I found myself laughing as her new friend tries to play matchmaker. Jack/Oliver has a great heart and wants to find the perfect man for Melody. I think what I really liked about this story was how selfless Jack/Oliver was. Would you want want your spouse to find happiness after you are gone? Don't miss this enchanting story about love, hope and happiness. Make sure you have tissues close by.

I received a copy of this book from the author. The review is my own opinion.

I read my first book, by Mya, last year, and was extremely impressed. I knew, as soon as I read the blurb, that this book was going to be just as good. She has a way with writing exciting, ghostly reads that just pull you in and won't let go.

This books is sprinkled with a bit of romance, but it is focused on the life of Naomi, the main character, and Maggie's demise. I liked this, as it was exciting to get to know Maggie and the haunted, cemetery house, as well as learning about Naomi and her writing. Her investigative mind and honesty really help bring out the best in people and the truth in Maggie.

The relationship parts were fun as well. This was mostly due to them being very realistic. There was a hopefully relationship, which turned out to be purely friendship, but on the highest level possible, a hot new relationship and a failed blind date. All of this was dealt with by Naomi, and she gained another 'detective' in her new best mate.

I felt that the characters were all created well. They made a very well-rounded world, and were full of great personality. I especially loved the keen nature of Ryan. He reminds me of how my hubby and I act when we spot something we love and just have to have a look.

The pace was done well and really made the book flow well. It wasn't a fast or slow pace, but one that just seemed to move along well with the deal of the book. It was always at a level that kept things interesting and truly kept me hooked.

I highly highly recommend this book!

This was such a sweet short story. It is the perfect holiday read, filled with love, laughter, magic, healing and joy.

From the start, we are given two character, who have had a bad go of things recently. They are a bit down, and the holiday season makes it even harder. On a whim, one takes a journey to stay in a secluded cabin, for Christmas and New Year, and suddenly finds herself in the quaintest cafe, with a spirited women and a handsome stranger.

I loved reading along as their lives collided together, bringing them more relief, happiness and friendship than they could have ever imagined. Within an instant they feel and see the true spirit and magic of Christmas, as it comes to life.

I loved the two characters. Their problems were both very real and easy to relate to. They had personalities that worked well together, even though they are hidden under a walled exterior. I liked reading along as the barriers starts to fall and they saw each other for real.

The ending was a great surprise. I really liked the way that Mya took it and think it is perfect for the festive season.

Overall, this is a brilliant rad. It is perfect for a short evening read, by the fire or in a comfy chair, as the holiday approach.

What I Thought:

I thought this was a very sweet book. It was heart wrenching, heartwarming and everything in between. I found myself thinking 'If I had passed, would I want to do this for my hubby, if he were struggling to move on and live his life?' and though I know I would hurt, just like our main character did, I think I would. The amount of love he held in his heart was unbearably high.

May wrote this story so well that I felt the love, from both our main characters. I knew that they truly had a love that was set to last for eternity, but life...well, it got in the way. I felt that she really gave us time to get to know the characters, their personality and what they felt.

The plot was great! I thought it was a fresh take on love, loss and the 'after.' Wouldn't it be great to go back and help our other half move on to enjoy and live life? However, we weren't left with a story that was all hearts and fun. We were given a REAL story. What person wouldn't hurt, struggle and even consider giving up, if they were put in the position of the main character? I also liked that he wasn't the only one to struggle with the reality of moving on, to question if it meant that the love for their other half was tarnished.

The pace of the story was good. It gave us time to get to know the surrounding, the details needed to really build up a love story. Some moments were a tiny bit slow for me, but I am used to action in a lot of my stories, so it isn't a point to turn away from the story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this read. I felt it had a fresh take on a story we've seen before - the one of loss and moving on. I liked that characters and felt that May made them very real. Don't let the fact that this story is based around the holiday season turn you away from grabbing a copy! This book is really a great cosy, romance to snuggle up with any time of year. I feel the holiday theme gives it a warm feeling, to rival the struggles in the story.
