I like that this book incorporates Yoruban words and that the city of Elu is inspired by Edo, Nigeria. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this graphic novel series to see what Iyanu gets up to and how the Oba deals with the uprising in the city.
A pretty standard superhero tale, distinguished only by its Nigerian focus. The writers and creative crew are Nigerian, as are the characters and the setting of Lagoon City (inspired by Lagos). It is part of the YouNeek Youniverse -- an African/Nigerian clone of the Marvel or DC stables of superheroes.
