- Achill Moser, born in 1954, studied African Studies, Arabic and Economics. Since 1979 he has worked as a freelance journallist, photographer, author of books and speaker. His travel reports have appeared in the magazines Geo and Stern. He has also appeared in many television broadcasts and has published more than 20 books.
On many extensive trips, he has made frequent visits to both China and Mongolia.
Furthermore, he has undertaken more than 30 expeditions, adding up to a total of five years -- on foot and by camel through 25 deserts of the world. Like a nomad, he followed the forgotten caravan trails, ancient paths of pilgrims and the routes taken by historical explorers. His motto is: "To walk through the deserts of the world, at a speed that the sould can keep in step with ... ." [from Mongolia : Land of Genghis Khan (2007)]
