The banditti of the plains; af Asa Shinn Mercer
Fascinating account of the murder of sheepmen/farmers (rustlers?) in Johnson County, Wyoming in 1892. Mercer is very sympathetic to the victims and strongly opposed to the cattlemen's powerful hold on the region. The book was suppressed by the cattlemen and is extremely rare. There is a compelling account of one of the victim's last hours as he is trapped inside a cabin with the vigilantes outside--purportedly his own writings.
