This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I really enjoyed this book. I haven't read the first two books in the series, but I want to after reading this book. I appreciated the fast pace of the storyline. The main characters were interesting and likeable. A great book that I would recommend.
I received this book as an ARC and unfortunately I couldn't finish it. I just couldn't get into the story and I tried several times to finish it (over the past few months). I will try again when I am more in the mood for a teenage-aimed story as the writing wasn't bad and I like where the story may have been heading. I just cannot get in the mood or past the insta-teenage love that seems to be happening (about 1/4 through the book).

Having not read books 1 or 2 I wasn't sure how easily in would follow this but it wasn't too hard. The story was good but not brilliant. I enjoyed it but it didn't thrill me as much as I'd hoped. The dramatic scenes weren't quite as developed as I'd have liked but it was still a good read. The end was interesting, I wasn't sure which way I wanted Maeve to go but the epilogue finished it off nicely.… (mere)

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I didn't realize this was the second book to a series when I first requested and read this, but it was an interesting story to read especially with the Irish history, mythology, and fantasy. Despite it being interesting, I did have a difficult time getting through it.
