David J. McGillivray

Being a marathon runner myself I expected this book to have a lot of great insight into running. After all the cover says "The Road to Success." However, I found this to be nothing but a book on the self glorification of Dave McGillivray. Let me start with the good things first. OK. Now the bad things. dave raises a lot of money for charity and that is a good thing but anyone that has to constantly blow his own horn and keep telling how great he is is just full of himself. I really tried to finish this book but I just couldn't According to Dave himself the world is a better place because of him. Perhaps I knew the outcome of this book right from the beginning when he tells how short he is. A lot of short people have a superiority complex and feel they have something to prove. The last pages of this book even go so far as to list Daves accomplishments. Unfortunately they missed that he was 3rd grade homeroom representative. Dave has done a lot for charity but the real contibutors to charity are the ones you will never know. Not the ones that toot their own horn.… (mere)
