My fourth great grandfather, Arfax Dawson, was hanged as a Northern sympathizer in Gainseville, Texas. His story is told in this book.

An interesting look at Robert E. Lee's hero worship of George Washington, and it's effect on his military strategies during the civil war. Not very in-depth, and a bit repetitive.

My ggg-grandfather Arphaxad DAWSON was hung at this sad affair. This book chronicles the details of the men who died as well as the men who executed them. Lots of details and sources for the story of how Texans were torn between the two sides in the Civil War.
