This book is a delight. If you're familiar with Dami Lee's work online or if you follow her IG, I don't have any convincing to do here. If you're new to her but you love the likes of Sarah Anderson or the general "awkward but making it in a rough world" genX or millennial struggles as we go through a world full of angry boomers and patriarchy, this will be a gentle antidote to the long days.
If you're a young artist, regardless of the medium, you'll see something of yourself in these panels.

I also appreciated the glimpse into how her life has been as she transitioned with her family to the states and back again - relatable and poignant stuff in sweet simple illustrations.

So happy I got a chance to read this and I've ordered some for my galpals for the Holidays.

I tried to like it, but I didn’t find it as funny and enthralling as I had hoped. I still chuckled a couple of times, but it wasn’t anything extraordinary. Maybe I shouldn’t have taken it in small doses instead of reading it all in one sitting. I also think I may have been expecting it to be like Hyperbole and A Half. 🤷🏽‍♀️

This book was absolutely adorable to read! It was funny, relatable, and I loved the illustrations that went with them. I often found myself smiling at the jokes and her sense of humor. I like that she added in some of her culture as well and even jokes about it to an extent; it made the book feel more personal. Overall I had such a good experience reading it and I like the messages it got across.

Although the book is visually entertaining, the story is not at all. If you would like to read a better story, I would reccomend "Enrique's Journey".
