Holocaust revisionism has always interested me. Questions on established beliefs are always basically compelling in getting one closer to the truth if it truly is lacking. What really piqued my interest on the topic is watching in the documentary "The World at War" an episode called "Genocide". In one of the scenes in a concentration camp one could see in the background well-dressed women lounging on the ground smiling as if in a picnic while in the foreground a healthy and well-dressed woman was "weeping" clutching the arm of an American soldier as if trying to gain the puzzled infantryman's sympathy. Shortly after I came across a recommendation of Nicholas Kollerstrom's book at hand and decided to check it out.

In "Breaking the Spell: The Holocaust, Myth & Reality" Kollerstrom states combatively a pretty compelling case on the questionable foundation of the Holocaust stories and its "facts". He relates how he and other authors who have questioned the accepted narrative and written and published works on it have been denied their livelihoods, stigmatized and even jailed in their quest for truth. He describes the sinister agenda used in maintaining and forcing the Holocaust to the world as akin to a religion where people who question it even slightly are persecuted as blasphemous and made to pay high prices for it. He goes into technicalities and argues how chemicals supposedly used for killing Jews and other concentration camp inmates were actually used to delouse prisoners as disease was rampant in the camps. He states that the Germans were even anxious to save the prisoners and went to desperate measures to do so. He claims there was even a swimming pool in a concentration camp (which he writes can be seen in Google Earth!) and other recreational activities like music and theater as testified by the inmates themselves. His studies show it was Allied bombings together with disease that caused most of the deaths in the camps and with written evidence shows the Germans laid out strict laws that German authorities were forbidden to harm prisoners and any who did were meted out punishments.

If these are to be believed then one can surmise that the British and Americans (and perhaps powerful Jews) concocted a nefarious scheme to demonize and stigmatize the Germans like they did in Versailles to keep Germany from being a threat once again as the latter proved to be a very formidable opponent. And it sure has worked wonders for them as those in the know and this book shows. But as Versailles blew up in their faces with a reality far worse than they expected one can only imagine what they'll get if all these allegations are true and exposed.

Compelling and readable, "Breaking the Spell: The Holocaust, Myth & Reality" is an essential read for fans of history and truth seekers in perhaps the most controversial topic of the modern era.… (mere)
