You don't have to be Sweet-N-Low you can be Equal. It's okay and it's not that serious.

This was written as a warning to African American women about how to tell if your man was having gay relationships on the side. As such, it's not very interesting. You can get AIDS just as easily if your man is having unprotected sex with female prostitutes. If you can't trust your partner, you need to practice safer sex, period.

However, as a view into how heteronormative culture adversely affects the African American community in the United States, this book offers a lot of data for reflection.… (mere)

On the Down Low: A Journey into the Lives of… af J. L. King

I initially picked up this book because of a television program that spoke about the nature of this behavior. It's a very quick read and is pretty open, but it leaves you second guessing at the end because they list out five "behavior" patterns to look for - and I think generalizing a whole group of people is unfair. Great book for a psychology or health class.
